Request to change water provider from San Bernardino County
Special Districts to Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency.
 

Petition to LAFCO (current active petition)

Dear LAFCO Commissioner and/or County Supervisor:

I, (Petitioner Name), a resident, rate payer, homeowner, tenant, and/or registered voter of Landers, CA, currently being served by the San Bernardino County Special Districts Water Department in County Service Area 70/Zone W-1, hereby strongly support the dissolution of CSA 70/Zone W-1 and its annexation into Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, because it would provide immediate financial relief from exorbitant rates and charges, as well as measurable transparency, and local governance (elected Board members that live in my community) and water service (operations, maintenance and administration) centralized in my community.

I urge you to support an application requesting the Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO) initiate proceedings for a reorganization to include annexations to Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency and dissolution of County Service Area 70/Zone W1, more specifically LAFCO Case No. 3181.

Petition to BDVWA (retired petition, for reference only)

San Bernardino County Special Districts' water rates for CSA70W-1 are out of step with the rates that other area water providers charge. Further, San Bernardino County Special Districts has a lack of transparency, poor customer service, failure to adequately communicate with ratepayers and the lack of a local physical office location. We as a community deserve better. Consequently, I am requesting that Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency start the process where they replace San Bernardino County Special Districts as our water provider.
